The initiative
The ROSARY ON THE MOVE, launched on October 8, 2022 in the diocese of Luçon, aims to be faithful to the spirituality of Saint Louis-Marie Grignon de Montfort (1673-1716), buried in Vendée in Saint Laurent sur Sèvre and who was an ardent missionary of the prayer of the Rosary:
“Unhappiness and the loss of souls come from forgetting the mysteries of Jesus Christ.
The Rosary gives knowledge and brings to mind the mysteries of Jesus and Mary in order to put them into practice.
Indeed, the greatest desire of Jesus Christ was and still is that He be remembered; it is for this purpose that He instituted the Holy Mass.
After the Holy Mass, the Holy Rosary is the most holy action and prayer that one can do because it is a memory and a celebration of what Jesus did and suffered for us." (Saint Louis Marie Grignon de Montfort)
And at your place?
We now want to introduce the WALKING ROSARY to parishes, dioceses, and Marian shrines. It is very easy to organize.
Description of the WALKING ROSARY
The WALKING ROSARY consists of praying the 3 or 4 mysteries of the Rosary, while walking for approximately 1.5 hours, the time of a Rosary.
It is desirable that the walk starts from a church or better still from a chapel in the countryside, in order to allow you to take paths or, failing that, small roads with very little traffic.
The advantage of a trail is that it does not require prefectural authorization.
The WALKING ROSARY is also a moment of solidarity between walkers and non-walkers.
People whose health does not allow them to walk for 1.5 hours are welcome and can do a very short circuit with the walkers (or stay in the chapel): this allows them to begin the first two decades of the rosary together.
WITH FAMILY
under the protection of Venerable Patrick Peyton (1909-1992) this holy priest tireless promoter of the Rosary prayed in family, we are particularly happy to welcome families with their children, walking behind the statue of Mary, praying the Rosary, along the paths or beaches, sometimes with their feet in the water...
